Every once in a while I do a self portrait photo shoot. I usually prepare myself by taking a shower, applying makeup, and working with my hair a little...pampering. For this photo I started looking through my dresser to find something that was colorful and meant something to me to include in the photo. This scarf was the element I found. The scarf belonged to my grandmother while she was alive; it was colorful and really fun to experiment with. I sat leaning against our red/orange front door to use the natural sunlight coming in through the storm door. Through the years I have realized my preference is to use available light, and soft natural sunlight is my favorite. Luckily, although my home may be small, we have plenty of large windows with soft light pouring through.
